Hi guys, I have come across Bortec, a German specialist for boronizing. Has anyone ever heard of them? I read up on them in my lunch break because I was bored and as a science teacher, I love this kind of stuff. Apparently it's a method of hardening steel and alloyed metals. I haven't heard of boronizing yet, so I was really intrigued! Can someone tell me a little bit more about that? How does the process work? Why does boronizing increase wear protection and how does it prevent corrosion? How is it different from more common case hardening techniques? I'm looking forward to your answers!
