I would like to add a few lines about my time at ILC even though it's been a while.
I spent one month teaching at ILC in December 2010 and I had a wonderful, unforgettable time.
First of all, I want to thank Gregory Grove for his great support. As the academic director, he made my stay in Chachapoyas possible very short term. Upon my arrival, he gave me a very welcoming insight into Chachapoyas and the region and a very helpful, well organized introduction into my work responsibilities. I never hesitated to contact him with any questions. Also, even though I am an experienced teacher, I highly benefited from his feedback, from participating in some of his classes and seeing his great interaction with his students.
I also want to thank my colleagues, for the great time we had. Thank you so much for being such open friends, for fun days and nights out and accepting a crazy German who seems so vegetarian into your round, even though she's a woman *
I can very much recommend stopping by in Chachapoyas and spending some time there if you like smaller town environments and the green and lush mountains of Northern Peru - I am not exaggerating when I am saying that this is my favourite little spot in the country. Teaching at ILC is a great way of getting a deeper insight and meeting some wonderful people while actively participating in the community.
If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact me!
* This is not meant as a reference for any female travellers who might be interested in working at ILC. There are plenty of females working at ILC.
